April 15, 2013 - At about 2:49PM EST two bombs explode near the finish line of the annual Boston Marathon in downtown Boston. The dual explosions, about 13 seconds apart, kill three people and injure over 180 others -- mostly people gathered to watch and welcome runners as they complete the 26-mile race. The tragic event marks the first successful terrorist attack on U.S. soil since the events of 9/11.

February 26, 2013 - Today marks the 20th anniversary of the first terrorist attack on the World Trade Center towers in New York City. The bomb attack claimed the lives of six people, all of whom are currently memorialized at the National 9/11 Memorial site in New York City - along with the victims of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. 9/11 Memorial Tribute to 1993 WTC Bombing Victims.

September 11, 2012 - As the United States observes the 11th anniversary of the events of 9/11, terrorists launch a planned attack on the U.S. consulate office in Benghazi, Libya killing four Americans including Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens. The deadly assault marks the first successful terrorist attack on a U.S. target on an anniversary of the events of 9/11. The 11th anniversary was also marked by violent anti-American protests at the U.S. embassy in Cairo, Egypt.

February 24, 2012 - The Chiofaro Company hosted an exhibit of some of the EKTIMIS 9/11 10th Anniversary commissioned artwork collection in the Atrium at its prestigious International Place office complex in downtown Boston, MA (financial district). The exhibit was on display during President's week, from February 21 through 23, 2012, in support of the EKTIMIS 9/11 Support A Hero program. (See images below).

January 28, 2012 - The city of St. Louis, Missouri, serves as host to the nation's first large city Welcome Home parade for U.S. soldiers recently back from the war in Iraq. The event marked a grassroots effort to welcome back troops and bring much needed attention to the challenges (employment, health issues, etc.) facing many soldiers as they try to return to normal lives. January 20, 2012 - A new movie based on the events of 9/11, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, opens nationally. The movie, rated PG-13 and based on a 2006 novel by Jonathan Safran Foer, stars Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock and looks at the journey of a young boy coming to terms with the death of his father on 9/11.

December 23, 2011 - EKTIMIS provides holiday support to Fisher Houses in San Antonio, Texas through financial donations to the Brooke Army Medical Center Fisher House and the Lackland Air Force Base Fisher House. In addition, through the Connect-With-A-Family program, eighty three (83) framed 9/11 10th anniversary medallions were delivered to both Fisher Houses for subsequent holiday presentation to each of the military families presently being served at the two San Antonio Fisher Houses. Each medallion gift will be accompanied by a personalized note of gratitude and encouragement.

December 13, 2011 - EKTIMIS provides support to Fisher House Boston (Massachusetts) through a financial donation as well as a commemorative package presentation. The presentation includes a donated copy of the 9/11 10th Anniversary commissioned artwork ("REFLECTION") and a framed 9/11 10th Anniversary commissioned medallion. In addition, through the Connect-With-A-Family program, twenty one (21) more framed 10th anniversary medallions were delivered to Fisher House Boston for subsequent presentation to each of the military families presently being served at the house.

November 9, 2011 - A few days ahead of Veterans Day, EKTIMIS honors the families of fallen soldiers by adding the names of each military service man and woman lost in the conflict in Iraq and Afghanistan to the 911TenthYear commemoration website. This previously planned effort acknowledges the service of these fallen brave men and women while confirming the all important nexus between 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

November 1, 2011 - President Obama declares November (2011) Military Family Appreciation Month. With many U.S. troops currently serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, this presents an opportunity to honor and express gratitude to the many families of our brave men and women in uniform.

September 15, 2011 - 9/11 Poll Conducted by EKTIMIS Shows America Still Not United Regarding the Aftermath of the Events of September 11, 2001. (Read full press release).

September 11, 2011 - As part of the 9/11 10th Anniversary observance at the 9/11 Memorial in San Antonio, Texas, EKTIMIS recognizes the contribution of U.S. soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan through a donation of a pair of 9/11 10th Anniversary commissioned artwork ("REFLECTION") to the Fisher Houses at Lackland Air Force Base and at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

September 8, 2011 - EKTIMIS teams with Pop Singer Chelsea Chris and ChelseaChris.com to bring a wonderful tribute in song to the 9/11 10th Year Commemoration website. The Commemoration website features two tributes by singer Chelsea Chris -- in honor of 9/11 First Responders and in honor of the men and women of the U.S. Military.

August 10, 2011 - EKTIMIS Launches Landmark Website Commemorating 10th Year Anniversary of September 11 World Trade Center Attacks. The national initiative provides a platform for some creative and innovative programs that engage America's youth on the topic of 9/11, honors the U.S. military and firefighters, and acknowledges military families.
